International Award Winning Artist Richard Ozanne was born May 20th 1959 in St Louis Mo. (USA)
Ozanne began study of art at the age of 4 years and began his study in painting and drawing classes at Chautauqua Institution in 1968 studying under renowned American artist Revington Arthur. Furthering his career over a span of 40 years, Ozanne has enveloped a well developed education as well as an international pedagogical career. He has an active career as an international exhibiting artist.
Mr Ozanne has earned post graduate degrees in the professional field of painting and drawing and has studied at some of the foremost schools in the United States as well as in Europe. He pursued his PhD in Arts in Humanities in Prague Europe as well as having an MFA Masters of Fine Arts from Arizona State University (Tempe Arizona) and BFA from the University of Arizona (Tucson) Mr Ozanne has studied at the world famous Art Students League of New York and Columbia University during an intensive post-graduate 4 year residency in New York City sponsored on scholarship. In addition Mr. Ozanne has studied with some of the greatest exponents of classical and contemporary art in the genre in New York City and Europe.
Over a 7 year period Mr. Ozanne exhibited and taught in Europe at such eminent universities as Charles University of Prague, (a historic institution founded in 1342 as one of the oldest and outstanding universities on the continent of Europe as well as known as one of the leading German Universities) at the faculty of the Academy of Arts and Music as well as the Faculty of Film and Media (FAMU) as well as the independent faculty of pedagogy where he was resident artist and assistant professor. He has also given guest appearances at other distinguished institutes and taught in Central Europe and in Torino Italy via the international academy of arts "Santarita" as well as teaching private students.
Ozannes work as an artist has appeared in solo and group exhibits in across the United States, Europe, New Zealand and Japan.
Some 2000 works Richard Ozanne (on DVD) retained as a private collection. He pursues his work privately and in due course, retaining the meaning of art for the value of what art should be not for commercial or popular sensation.
Mr. Ozannes' travels are notable as well as reflected in his work. In several trans-world tours he has traveled to many countries for the sole purpose of private research on art. Some of the most remote regions of our planet have been visited for these purposes. He was one of the very few foreign artists to travel and visit Tibet (China) during the opening of a closed nation in 1985. Ozanne has visited the Andaman-Nicobar Islands of India , Myanmar, Kashmir, New Guinea to mention a few locations from a list of 90 countries.
During his career Mr. Ozanne has achieved numerous notable international awards, biographical inclusions and plaudits in this field in the United States, United Kingdom and Italy. He is included on the "Dedication" roster of the Millennium Hall of Fame (1997) of the American Biographical Institute Research Association (where he is lifetime Deputy Governor of the organization) which can be viewed at the Library of Congress in Washington DC. He has received the International Trophy of arts, representing Artistic Excellence in Europe and is the recipient of the United Cultural Convention International Peace Prize as well as many nominations for other awards (see resume)
Aside from a life interest as an artist he is a pianist (in classical, modern and progressive jazz idioms) and a writer, He is the founder of Marlov Corporation *93 for research and development of arts and culture (1994) and of the IAAC Institute for the Advancement of Arts Culture, Universal American Artists (2001) Kandinsky Institute (2006) and several other venues for encouraging artists young and old in their pursuit of "happiness". He remains hopeful of added interest in these venues for art in the future.

Richard Ozanne has composed over 100 preludes, etudes and tone poems for piano. Mr. Ozanne has written works for a number of instruments, violin, trumpet, flute and guitar. Mr. Ozanne has a very special background relating him to a line of genius including Sergi Rachmaninoff, Feruccio Busoni, Franz Liszt, Ludwig Von Beethoven, Dimitri Shostokovitch, Dimitri Kabalevsky, Alexander Tcherepnin. Mr. Ozannes work has been played on the radio and Television as well as outsourced for the movie industry under other names aside from his own.
The world which is with us is a difficult place of business and pride filled with the charcoal palette of ruin. How can an artist make a beautiful painting when such tragedy is spilled before our eyes with media and loose morals dangled before us like an extracted tooth. And then again any person that truely wishes for peace is saint.

VVive a Venaria da circa due anni Richard Ozanne, 47 anni, brillante pianista e pittore visuale americano noto anche all’estero nato a St. Louis nel Missouri. Suona il pianoforte dall’età di quattro anni mostrando una naturale abilità e proviene da una famiglia di musicisti esecutori di concerti a livello internazionale. Suo padre Marsh è stato pianista di talento dell’Orchestra sinfonica di San Francissco e ha interpretato più volte le musiche del russo Dimitri Kabalevski e sua madre Patricia Benkman è stata pianista solista. Suo nonno paterno era un violinista, mentre suo nonno materno era un flautista che ha suonato alla direzione del maestro Toscanini. Richard, invece, si è esibito come solista o in gruppo negli Stati Uniti, in America,in Europa, in Nuova Zelanda e in molti altri paesi. Come pittore, è stato invitato dai ministri della cultura dell’ex Unione Sovietica e della Repubblica Cinese. In Cina è stato uno dei primi artisti ad avere il privilegio di visitare il Tibet ed esporre le sue tele in Asia. << Dal 1970 al 1990 –ha detto Richard- ho visitato più di cinquanta stati e molti dei miei dipinti sono stati ispirati dalla conoscenza di questi paesi, come Tahiti, le isole di Solomon, la Nuova Guinea, l’Indonesia, l’Australia, la Tailandia, la Birmania (Myanmar), l’India e le isole di Andaman, il il Sikkim, il Bhutan, il Nepal, il Kashmir, la Corea del sud, l’Iran e il Giappone. Durante gli anni 80 ho vissuto per parecchi mesi a Cannes in Francia e ho studiato con l’artista francese Gustav Nebel allievo di Edward Vuillard. Sono stato anche in Inghilterra dove a Cambridge ho ricevuto una medaglia d’argento per le arti visive. Adesso sono in Italia che è la culla dell’arte per portare avanti la mia ricerca interiore trasferendo nella pittura i miei ricordi, le mie sensazioni, le mie emozioni e trovando nella natura e nella vita due soggetti ideali ricchi di riflessioni filosofiche. Lo scorso anno ho insegnato alla Scuola americana internazionale di Moncalieri e all’Oxford Center e T.E.S.L. Center di Torino>>. Richard Ozanne ha conseguito un dottorato in Arte e un master all’Università dell’Arizona, un diploma all’Università Columbia e all’Art Students League (4 anni d’intenso studio) di New York e ha frequentato un corso di specializzazione al Chautauqua Institution. American Artist Richard Ozanne has been a noted figure (famous)in the art world on the other side of the media line of popular names and variety show icons. He has exhibited across the country as well as abroad in a successful art career spanning over 40 years.
Richard Ozanne has exhibited his artwork across the United States, in New York City and in solo and group exhibits in the countries of
Europe and New Zealand.
His diverse background has caught the attention of biographical and arts circles in Europe as well as the United States, perhaps as one of the leading artists of today.
Brief Chronology
1964-1977
Son of two noted classical pianists.
Began art studies in painting and drawing as well as music as early as 1964.
He started art school in 1967 at Chautauqua New York under the tutelage of Revington Arthur.
Mr. Ozanne was included in the "Chautauqua Paints" exhibit in New York City at the National Arts Club in the late 60's
During his youth he studied classical piano as well as took painting lessons privately well as had a strong interest in science as well as photography.
1973-74 Lived in Cannes France and was directed to museums for studies of the masters.
1977
Expedition of Europe and Asia (Round the world tour for research in the arts)
Began collegiate as well as private studies after high school at the University of Arizona Tucson
towards a split degree in art and music.
1980- Toured the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic, USSR ( Russia) by invitation. Cultural Tour included Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev, Zaparossia, Odessa, Vilna as well as other cities. Produced portrait of Russian composer Dimitri Borovitch Kabalevsky which was brought to Moscow in 1987 by special courier.
Graduated BFA fine Arts 1982, University of Arizona.
Visited PRC, Peoples Republic of China (1982), spent part of the summer in Beijing. Invited to attend Central Academy by Wo Zouren, chairman of the Chinese Central Art Academy.
He was invited to attend the Art Students League of New York towards a four year post-graduate program (1983-86) In New York he studied with David A. Leffel, Thomas Fogarty, Jr., Robert Beverly Hale, Ted Seth Jacobs and others as part of a full time study in the visual arts.
During his summers he studied with Revington Arthur at Chautauqua Institution New York becoming a scholarship assistant.
Attended Columbia University of New York 1984 towards fulfillment of his Masters. During this period Mr. Ozanne exhibited extensively in New York appearing at some exclusive galleries and shows of the day. To support himself he taught art and piano as well as produced commercial work for advertising, record albums and books.

Return to PRC Peoples Republic of China, Visited the cities of Beijing, Shanghai,Chundu, Xian, Lhasa (Tibet) He was one of the first foreign artists to asked to produce an exhibit for Tibet.
1986
Left New York City for Arizona and continued study at Arizona State University (Tempe Arizona) , and returned briefly to Tucson AZ, while continuing full time as an artist producing private and public commissions and shows as well as commercial work.
1988
Exhibited in a solo traveling exhibit in New Zealand (Partial Video on this website)
1990
Produced artwork for exhibitions in New York City (Ariel Gallery) as well as shows in Arizona. Received a grant-scholarship to study in Italy. Lived in Chiaveri Italy and exhibited in the region of Liguria as well as studied art in the museums.
Graduated MFA Masters of Fine Art, Arizona State University, Tempe Arizona.
1993 Expedition of Eastern Asia. (ndonesia, Borneo etc.)
1994 Successful New York Exhibitions at Abney Galleries and promotional's in Europe.
1996 Expedition for purposes of research in the arts of Central and Eastern Europe, Regions of Kashmir and Pakistan as well as southeast Asia.
Ozanne began a special program toward his PhD in Arts and Humanities designed towards teaching and research (1997)
1996/ 1997/ 2003 Began transition from Arizona to Prague Czech Republic.Taught at Charles University (adjunct), Prague at the Faculty of Pedagogy, FAMU Film and Media Academy, where he taught communications, history and arts in English for Czechs going toward the State Certificates.

What can one say for the fixed stars? One issue is that they are "in fact" stars, the other is that the whole issue was fixed by gods who believed in fixing stars.
Art is Dead. All of the signs point to this! How can there be dead arts? Dead Arts are a heavy message of today. Art, Music and Literature are also quite dead, the artists themselves are hiding! Perhaps hiding from the ignorant masses who have positively no value in the arts, only hoping for "money" to be their barometer of the real and substantial, when the origin of money, all money is positvely without value...and this is what we preach in our religions, corporations, that one must be slaves in free societies, slaves enslaved and called "free", quite true we cannot consider a democracy! Opression is on the rise! Arts are the only outlet for freedom to live. We love Military. How can we make this love worthwile, praise the military for its substance and laude its substance, since all can join up, Join the military for your freedom to be. This will tell you a valuable lesson. Young and old should consider life in the military, army, navy, air force and marines. General politics, republican love, democratic euphoria, good for everyone. Art is not dead only in chains. We like chains, we like freedom, we like controversy, sin and sickenss, Isnt it better to love? Love is reflected in Love! Wont anyone hire an American Artist who has won practically every award in the world? Really, truthfully, matter of fact! Matter of Fact, MFA, BFA, Phd, Masters of Science, Artist of Religious Work. Hire me. Hire me now. You will be suprised how much I know. Intellectual. $80,000-250,000 per year. In America we do not pay artists nor respect the values they represent, We do not give elevation for Noble peurposes, we skip the noble prize. For the Noble purpose is a religion. Its sad we have so much ignorance. Ignorance is bliss, Freedom is Slavery,
How stupid are we now...ignorant to all things.
We are going to send military into the middle east. it is so sad that we as a nation neglect our own people, the artists, creators, people of difference, race, religion, sex.
That Value, all "value" becomes somehow virtual is a sign of the current times as the Great Book, and great books predicted some three thousand years ago, watching, waiting for the seals to be broken one by one, split, cracked, buried and burned. The Great Mountain will fall to the Plain...High made Low as rivers run dry of meaning...virtuality, instant gratification....the empty set being laid as truly empty.
What is Actual is Done. Done...by hand, thought, mind and experience, through all Gods gift of Good, His soul in the matrix of our own, through art and all peaceful worthwhile endeavors. What then could be considered more valuable than works of the human soul, peaceful and just?..as materiality fades to the Meaning of Spirituality as mindless matter find their proper place.

World-Renowned American Artist Richard Ozanne was born May 20th 1959 in St Louis Mo. (USA)
Mr. Ozanne as an artist who is continually re-introduced as a fellow of legacy through the multifaceted talents he has been given. He has exhibited the world over in numerous solo and group exhibits in New York City, Europe, New Zealand and Japan. Ozanne has a millieur of over 200 gallery and artistic appearances in United States and Europe which include museum, exhibition and gallery shows, as well as traveling exhibits, but as an artist he knows this is not the point. Creation is the point as well as the valuable venue of discovery. A noble prize could ever cover a life of continual dynamics or honor that which is innate and within, this is the dimension within us, to rediscover the prime focus of beauty which glides at times away from us only to be rediscovered in the artistic creation. Ozannes' volume of work is extremely large (totaling more than 10,000 works done during his lifetime and a portfolio of 2000 works on CD-DVD)
As an artist he has appeared throughout the world in research, visiting to some of the most remote areas of the planet rediscovering some of the most unusual ways of making art as well as painting. Some places he has traveled to in his research on art are:
England, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Benelux, Sweden, Norway,
Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Denmark, Russia (invited to visit the former Soviet Union by the ministry of culture 1980), Ukraine, Belarus, etc.
Iran, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Burma (Mayamar) Bhutan, Sikkim, Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, Kashmir, New Guinea, Australia, Borneo, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, Peoples Republic of China (Cities of Beijing, Xian,Chundu, Shanghai and many others- Special permission of the PRC to visit Lhasa Tibet issued in 1985-One of the first visual artists to visit Tibet after its formal opening and invited to exhibit his works ) , Mexico, Fiji, Solomon Islands and country-states of Micronesia in the south pacific...and others.
He has recorded his ideas in more than 200 journals and hundreds of pages of research. (Unpublished essays and writings on Art, selected prose, fiction and poetry)
His art and work is influenced by his artistic research done in Europe and Asia. Some of the classical artists he has been influenced by include: Rembrandt, Goya, Delacroix, Ingres,Anders Zorn, Capek, Egon Schiele, Wassily Kandinsky, George Roualt, Gustave Klimpt (and the Expressionists).

"In current culture we often deny access to the fine art, having placed instead various forms of functionally oriented mass media to take their place. Fine art is rare now and will become rarer in the future. Art will have to be protected by a ring of fire in order to survive what will become an eventual Alexandria. Much of our modern art simply becomes a commodity that yearns to our insatiable commercial appetite for the easily disposed (usable and junk and detritus culture) as well as proposing the quick and easy answers to long series of errors, which become compiled to gather a spurious notion rather than the actual notion of our time in history. What may be seen in the future is the Fahrenheit 451 effect..where mans efforts are left to State..even though we might call ourselves free in perspective"
